Cerro Tinajitas is an observation exercise into matter from a nearby locality to my home, in western Costa Rica. The place has an interesting flourishment of soils and clays of different colors and properties that can be applied in the creation of objects like ceramics, as pigment on textiles or bidimensional work (drawing, painting).

Simultaneously it allows to get closer or raise psychological awareness about the geological aspects and history of this area and how it relates to other surrounding formations I visit. Opening up the possibility of creating my speculative theories on this, based on my emotional and experiential observation, as well as investigation and verbal input from local agents that inhabit these places.

The pictures above consist of the isolation of colors present in one single small area of Cerro Tinajitas, from a photography taken in a visit to the place.
